Benedict Brain, Editor, Digital Camera Magazine
Hello, I'm James Paterson - a photographer, journalist, editor and trainer.
As an award-winning journalist working across a range of best-selling magazines I have experience of all kinds of photography, from landscapes to underwater. Portraiture is a particular passion- it's how I got started in photography and, as a father of two beautiful young children, it's also what I spend a lot of my free time doing.
I am the Editor of Practical Photoshop magazine, and I write monthly articles, shoot images and record videos for Digital Camera magazine, N-Photo magazine and PhotoPlus magazine. I've contributed to a variety of other titles including Computer Arts, Imagine FX and TechRadar, and my work appears in numerous books.
Photoshop is more than just a work tool and I enjoy messing around with the software and seeing what happens. I love all aspects of photography except having to dodge requests to do friend’s weddings.
Drop me a line if you want to discuss a project or collaboration.
